Robert Bishop named Burke County’s Chief Fire Marshal

MORGANTON, NC – Burke County is pleased to announce the official appointment of Mr. Robert Bishop as Burke County’s Chief Fire Marshal. Mr. Bishop has demonstrated exceptional dedication and leadership throughout his career, serving with the Icard Township Fire Department for 24 years and contributing to the county’s fire prevention and emergency response efforts as Deputy Fire Marshal for the past five and a half years.

In his role as Chief Fire Marshal, his duties include enforcing fire codes and regulations, conducting safety inspections for businesses and public buildings, leading fire cause and origin investigations, and coordinating fire and life safety education. Additionally, he will work closely with local fire departments, law enforcement agencies, and community partners to enhance public safety and fire prevention measures.
