On Friday morning (03/07) at approximately 5:30am, Caldwell County Sheriff’s deputies, along with the Caldwell County Fire Marshal’s Office and North Catawba Fire and Rescue, responded to a structure fire in the 2000 block of Baton School Road. One fatality has been confirmed, although the victim’s identity has not been released. It’s reported that the female victim was living in the outbuilding at the time of the incident. Authorities are working to determine the cause of the fire.
