The Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office has issued a public alert regarding scammers who identify themselves as officers with the Sheriff’s Office, and are requesting money from families of inmates for rehab services and ankle monitors. The scammers say that the inmate is scheduled for immediate release due to overcrowding at the jail.
You are advised to never send money or give personal information to anyone making these claims. These individuals are not affiliated with the Sheriff’s Office, the jail, or any legitimate rehab services.
If you receive one of these calls, report it immediately to your local authorities.
