“Speed a Little, Lose a Lot” campaign

This week is the North Carolina Governor’s Highway Safety Program’s “Speed a Little, Lose a Lot” campaign. Law enforcement throughout the state will increase patrols and hold checkpoints to keep the roads safe. It’s reported that in 2024 speeding was found to be the fourth leading factor in crash fatalities in North Carolina. The North Carolina Department of Transportation reported that 373 people died due to speed related crashes in 2024. The “Speed a Little, Lose a Lot” campaign runs through this Sunday April 20th.
