(MORGANTON, NC) – A Morganton man is in jail again after security cameras captured him breaking into several vehicles in the early morning hours Monday.
Just after 1am, Public Safety Officers responded to a reported Breaking and Entering at Everett Chevrolet, located off exit 105 in Morganton. Security cameras captured a man breaking into several vehicles as officers converged on the area.
37 year-old David Allen Dawson was taken into custody by Morganton Public Safety C Platoon.
Further investigation revealed items belonging to Timberwoods Restaurant, Forest Service Wildland Firefighting Crews staying at the Hampton Inn, damage to a Wilkie Construction Trailer and items from Rosa De Saron Church on E Fleming Drive.
Dawson also had an active warrant for his arrest for previous breaking and entering’s around Morganton. Officers were able to return several items including the firefighters equipment.
Dawson was confined to the Burke County Jail with a first appearance was Monday the 21st.
