On April 30, 2025, the Lenoir Police Department arrested Paige Blue following her extradition from Lee County, Florida. This arrest is the result of a more than two-year investigation into the death of Blue’s 7-month-old child.
On Thursday, March 16, 2023, at approximately 6:04 a.m., officers with the Lenoir Police Department and emergency medical personnel were dispatched to 1811 Forrest Hill Park Place in Lenoir in response to a report of an infant in cardiac arrest. Upon arrival, first responders located the 7-month-old child unresponsive. Life-saving efforts, including CPR, were initiated immediately. Despite nearly an hour of resuscitation attempts, the infant was
pronounced deceased at 6:50 a.m.
The Lenoir Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division launched an investigation into the child’s death. Through the course of the investigation, it was determined that the cause of death was fentanyl toxicity, following a lethal dose of the drug being found in the child.
Based on this finding, investigators obtained warrants charging Paige Blue with Murder and Felony Child Abuse. This investigation continues and more charges are expected. Blue is being held without bond and is scheduled to make her first appearance in Caldwell County District Court on May 1, 2025.
Anyone with information regarding this case or other criminal activity is encouraged to contact the Lenoir Police Department at (828) 757-2100 or Lenoir/Caldwell County Crime Stoppers at (828) 758-8300.
