Dave Faherty with WSOC reported that a police standoff was underway yesterday afternoon (Thursday 05/15) at around 3:30pm at Brandywine Condos in Conover.
The SWAT team was called into assist deputies who said that they were looking for an armed robbery suspect and a missing teenager. Several nearby condos had been evacuated, and after a 3-hour standoff deputies gained access to the home. They said the suspect Jim Jernigan was not inside. Investigators said that Jernigan is wanted for armed robbery and larceny of a motor vehicle, and is considered armed and dangerous.
Police said they are also looking for 15 year old Hope Carroll who is listed as missing and maybe with Jernigan.
