FBI offers reward for suspects in Catawba County shooting

The Federal Bureau of Investigation is offering a $15,000 reward for information leading to the identity, arrest, and successful prosecution of the suspect (s) in a mass shooting in Catawba County on June 1, 2025.

Catawba County, N.C.- The Catawba County Sheriff’s Office, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (SBI), are investigating a mass shooting at a home on Walnut Acres Drive. One person died and 11 others were injured, some were shot, others were hurt as they fled during the gunfire. Currently, seven people are hospitalized. The victims range in age from 16 to 57. We have notified the family of the man who was killed. He is identified as Shawn Patrick Hood, he was 58 years old and lived in Lenoir.
