More charges added for mass shooting suspects

More charges have been added for four suspects that authorities believe to be responsible for the mass shooting that occurred in Catawba County on Sunday June 1st.

Ten additional charges each of Attempted First Degree Murder have been filed against Toland Huff Jr, Zachary Bates, Izaiah Mitchell and Ke’andre Mack .  These defendants were denied bond and remain in the custody of the Catawba County Detention Facility. 

Authorities say they believe the incident is gang related and speculate that the shooting was part of a gang initiation. 

A records search shows, 22 year old Patrick Lee Tolbert who is one of the individuals accused of organizing the party and providing alcohol to minors to be a former resident at the 1125 Walnut Acres Drive address where the shooting took place. According to Catawba County GIS, the Walnut Acres Drive home is owned by 75 year old David Tolbert & 54 year old Sabrina Tolbert.
