A funeral procession and memorial to honor Hickory Firefighter Jake Bridges will be held on Wednesday, June 11.
The family, friends, and fellow firefighters of Jake Bridges, who passed away on Thursday, June 5, invite the community to view the funeral procession to honor and remember his life.
The procession will begin at approximately 8:30 a.m. at Bennett Funeral Service, 7878 NC 16, Newton, NC. The procession may affect traffic; please plan accordingly. Participants are asked to be respectful and follow traffic laws.
The memorial for Jake will begin at 11 a.m. and will be held at the Hickory Metro Convention Center located at 1960 13th Ave Drive SE, Hickory, NC. The memorial is open to the public. However, the family has requested no media during the memorial service.
During his short 20-year life, Jake impacted many lives with his infectious laugh and dedication to the fire service. He will be immensely missed by his family, girlfriend, friends, fellow firefighters, and the community.
