On June 27, 2025, the Department of Probation and Parole requested the assistance of Granite Falls Police Department in a probationary search of the residence located at 13 Spring Street in Granite Falls. During the search of the home belonging to 39 year old James Allen Jones.
During the search officers located approximately 16.5 grams of methamphetamine and 6 grams of powder fentanyl. Officers also located a loaded .32 caliber pistol with the narcotics.
As a result of the initial investigation by Granite Falls officers on scene, Jones was charged with one count of Trafficking in Opium or Heroin, Possession of Methamphetamine, Maintaining a Dwelling for Controlled Substances, and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.
Jones received a $100,000 secure bond for all charges by Granite Falls Police Department and received a $30,000 secure bond for a separate probation violation based on these new charges.
