AMOREM Receives $10k Grant from the Stevens Family Foundation

LENOIR—AMOREM received a $10k grant from the Stevens Family Foundation to ensure that the organization can deliver exceptional end-of-life care, palliative medicine and grief support services to patients and their families.

As a local nonprofit hospice and palliative provider, AMOREM provides physical, emotional and spiritual care to hospice-eligible patients and those they love. Hospice is a holistic approach to care for the terminally ill which considers the patient and their family the unit of care. Studies show that terminally ill patients who receive the benefit of hospice care have an overall improved quality of life and live longer than those who do not. AMOREM’s palliative medicine is a consultative service that provides an extra layer of support for anyone living with a serious illness.

“AMOREM is honored that the Stevens Family Foundation has continued to be AMOREM’s partner,” says Director of Development Ashley Edwards. “Through this partnership, AMOREM is empowered to provide more quality, more compassion and more support to our patients who are receiving end-of-life care and their loved ones.”

As a local nonprofit hospice provider, AMOREM provides services regardless of ability to pay. Due to the commitment to serve individuals regardless of ability to pay, AMOREM depends on community support to offset the expense of operations. Through partnerships with the Stevens Family Foundation, AMOREM is empowered to fulfill its mission to the communities served as it strives to practice stewardship and protect the resources entrusted to it.
