The Alexander County Sheriff’s Office has been actively investigating a string of breaking and entering incidents in the Ellendale Community of Alexander County.
As a result of the ongoing investigation, deputies arrested Charles Vincent Packer Jr., a 54-year-old white male from Taylorsville, on July 2, 2025. Packer has been charged with the following offenses:
Four counts of felony breaking and entering
Two counts of larceny after breaking and entering
One count of larceny of a motor vehicle
One count of injury to personal property
In addition, on July 3, 2025, Packer was charged with being a registered sex offender on school premises. The investigation revealed that he was on school property during late-night hours.
Packer is currently being held in the Alexander County Detention Center under a $110,000 secured bond. His first appearance in Alexander County District Court is scheduled for July 7, 2025.
This investigation remains active, and additional arrests are anticipated in connection with these cases.
