On Wednesday, July 2, 2025, Caldwell County Sheriff’s deputies and detectives assisted officers with North Carolina Probation and Parole with a warrantless house search at the residence of Stacey Joe Sheppard and Cynthia Denise Reid, 2796 Shewcraft Pl, Lenoir. During the search, officers discovered drug paraphernalia, nearly 18 grams of fentanyl, a Mossberg .410 shotgun, and over $1,000 in cash.
As a result, both Sheppard and Reid were charged with the following offenses:
Trafficking Opium or Heroin
Possession of a Firearm by a Felon
Two counts of Probation Violations
Both individuals were taken into custody and placed in the Caldwell County Detention Center. Each received a $30,000 bond for the probation violations and an additional $30,000 bond for the drug trafficking and firearms charges.
“This case is another example of how strong partnerships between law enforcement agencies can lead to impactful results in the fight against dangerous drugs in our communities,” said Sheriff Kevin H. Bean. “We remain committed to keeping Caldwell County safe and holding offenders accountable.”
