Granite Falls Woman sentenced for Death By Distribution

Sheriff Kevin Bean announced that Jessica Marie McMahon, age 39, of Granite Falls, was convicted this week in Caldwell County Superior Court on charges of Death by Distribution and Trafficking Heroin/Opium.
The Death by Distribution charge stems from the February 8, 2024, death of Hayli Surayah White, age 22, of Valdese, in Concord. The joint investigation by the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office and Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office determined that White died from acute fentanyl toxicity after obtaining the drug from McMahon in Granite Falls earlier that month.
McMahon, who has a lengthy history of drug-related arrests in North Carolina, was sentenced to 90 to 120 months in prison.
“This conviction is the result of determined investigative work and a firm commitment to holding drug dealers accountable for the deadly consequences of their actions,” said Sheriff Kevin H. Bean. “We hope this brings some measure of justice to Hayli’s family.”
