Sheriff Kevin H. Bean announces that on July 15, 2025, the Caldwell County Sheriff’s I.C.E Unit made an arrest on a Granite Falls man. The joint investigation ended with the seizure of over $10,000 worth of Fentanyl and a handgun. The investigation involved the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office, the Lenoir Police Department and the N.C. SBI.
On July 15, 2025, Narcotic Agents with the Caldwell County Sheriff’s I.C.E. Unit observed a known wanted suspect traveling on Grace Chapel Road in Granite Falls. The driver, Patrick Lowell Wallace, age 31 of Granite Falls was known to have an outstanding arrest warrant for Trafficking Fentanyl. Narcotics Agents followed Wallace to his residence on Berry Creek Circle and made the arrest without incident. During the arrest, Agents located approximately 54 grams of Fentanyl and a handgun in Wallace’s waistband.
Wallace was arrested on the Trafficking Fentanyl warrant and then charged with two more counts of Trafficking in Fentanyl and Maintaining a Vehicle for Narcotics. He was placed in the Caldwell County Detention Center under a $100,000 secured bond.
The Fentanyl seized has a total street value of $10,800 according to North Carolina State Drug Guidelines.
