Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute is continuing to offer Cobra Super Summer Youth Camps on both the Caldwell and the Watauga Campuses for kids ages 5 and up with weekly camp opportunities through Aug. 4.
Cobra Super Summer Camp sessions are offered on the Caldwell Campus and Watauga Campuses with students separated into different age groups to allow each program to be customized with age-appropriate activities. Cost for each Super Summer session varies based on content. Each camp offers early drop-off, late pick up and a snack.
At the time of registration, a college representative will notify parents/guardians of drop-off and pick-up times and locations for their student. A parent/guardian may drop off their campers no earlier than 30-minutes before the start of class, and pick-up no later than 30-minutes after the end of class at the designated drop-off/pick-up location.

July 21-24, 2025
Electrified: Spark Your Curiosity
For ages 8-12 • Cost: $100
This camp allows young minds to explore the wonders of energy and electricity. Campers will learn the basics of energy, discover how electricity is generated, and get hands-on experience with magnets, circuits, and renewable energy sources. From building solar cars and snap circuits to experimenting with a variety of elements, each day offers fun and engaging STEM activities. Students will also get to experience an interactive Maglev lesson, a flashlight-making session, and an energy exploration hike.
BioTech & Advanced Manufacturing Exploration Camp
For ages 9 and up • Cost: $100
This advanced manufacturing exploration camp introduces students to the world of pharmaceutical manufacturing, 3D printing and design, and computer-integrated machining. Sessions will include hands-on activities from a variety of advanced manufacturing processes and systems that replicate operations used in industry. This camp will allow students to explore skills needed for a variety of high-demand, high-wage jobs and help inform future education and career training decisions.
Cosmetology Beauty Camp
For ages 13-15 • Cost: $100
This camp will introduce students to the world cosmetology including hair, makeup, skin and nail care. Students will learn the fundamental principles of hair styling, make up application and skin and nail care including beauty products and current tips and trends. This camp will be taught by a licensed cosmetology instructor in CCC&TI’s professional salon lab on the Caldwell Campus.
Basketball and Martial Arts Combo Camp
For ages 5-8 & 9 and up • Cost: $100
This camp offers an action-packed week of basketball and martial arts in a 2-for-1 “combo” camp. Students will get to learn basketball skills like proper shooting, dribbling, and passing techniques, rebounding, offense and defensive play, and team-building. Students will also learn the grappling-based form of martial arts from a black-belt instructor on self-defense while also building the mental and emotional skill sets like confidence, focus, and discipline. For this camp, students will be separated into different age/skill groups and participate in each sport for two-hours, then switch to the other sport for the remaining 2-hours. Students will need to wear gym clothes, socks, tennis shoes and bring a water bottle with their name on it each day.

Outdoors Adventure Camp
For ages 12 and up • Cost $190
This camp will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and offers students three full days of outdoor activities. Students will learn the basics of rock climbing, hiking, and kayaking as well as how to practice Leave No Trace Principles which keep land and water clean. Rock Dimensions will guide a half-day of climbing on “real rock” at Holloway Mountain near Boone, NC. Students will learn how to properly wear a harness, tie knots, use verbal commands and focus on climbing technique and safety. Students will also have the opportunity to identify different plants and trees species while on the trail. Emphasis will be “hands-on” learning about fitness, ecology, environmental science, collaboration, communication, and teamwork. Students will also participate in teambuilding activities, explore Lake Hickory by kayak and hike at nearby Valdese Lakeside Park. The session will be taught by a certified American Canoe Association L1 Kayaking

Bigger Kids Arts, Crafts and More
For ages 9 and up • Cost: $100
Student in this camp will learn about and experiment with a variety of art and craft mediums including painting, modeling clay, drawing, collage, sculpture, weaving and more. Student will learn the basics of working with air-dry clay and will have the opportunity to create their own keepsakes or gifts for family and friends.

Fun with Baking
Ages 9-13 • Cost: $220
This camp will meet from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday through Thursday in the Culinary Kitchen on CCC&TI’s Watauga Campus in Boone. Students will learn the basics principles of baking and leavening agents and create their own rolls, sweet treats and desserts. Students are required to wear closed toes shoes and have long hair secured in the kitchen area.

Healthy Eating: The Mediterranean Way
Ages 13-18 • Cost: $220
This camp will meet from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday through Thursday in the Culinary Kitchen on CCC&TI’s Watauga Campus in Boone. Students will learn about nutrition and healthy eating that tastes good and follows the principles of the Mediterranea Diet and how to make tasty but healthy meals and snacks. Students are required to wear closed toes shoes and have long hair secured in the kitchen area.
