Lenoir drug dealer arrested following search

On July 27, 2025, a residence used for selling Methamphetamine, received a visit by the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office ICE Unit and assisting agencies, when they executed a drug search warrant at 1687 Hoods Creek Road in Lenoir. The target of the investigation, Paul Vernon Vannoy Witherspoon, age 47, was taken into custody without incident. Agents seized approximately 85 grams of Methamphetamine and 19 grams of Cocaine from the residence.
As a result, Witherspoon was charged with one count of Trafficking Methamphetamine and Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Cocaine. Witherspoon received a $50,000 secured bond for the charges.
In total, Caldwell County Sheriff’s Narcotic Agents seized approximately 260 grams of Methamphetamine and 19 grams of Cocaine during the month-long investigation. The narcotics seized have a total street value of over $43,000 according to North Carolina State Drug Guidelines.
Agencies assisting in the investigation were the Lenoir Police Department, the Alexander and Watauga County Sheriff Offices and the NC SBI.
