On August 6, 2025, Emily Jane Clawson pled guilty to Felony Trafficking in Opium/Heroin and received a sentence of a
minimum of 70 months and a maximum of 93 months active in the NC Department of Corrections.
Summary:
On Friday, July 11, 2025, the Burke County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at 3716 Leger Road, Valdese, as part
of an ongoing narcotics investigation.
During the search of the residence, investigators discovered and seized quantities of Fentanyl, Methamphetamine,
Cocaine and numerous firearms, including one that was stolen.
Following the execution of the search warrant, two individuals, identified as Nicholas Bollinger and Emily Clawson, were
arrested. Both were transported to the Burke County Magistrate’s Office, where they were charged with Felony Trafficking
in Opium/Heroin, Felony Possession of Methamphetamine and Felony Possession of Cocaine.
