Authorities have arrested two suspects in connection with a homicide investigation in Burke County.
Deputies with the Burke County Sheriff’s Office responded to a cardiac arrest call at 3105 NC 126 on Friday.Upon arrival, deputies found a male deceased at the scene and immediately launched an investigation.
The two suspects arrested were identified as 27 year old Chad Allen Macjarrett of Morganton and 26 year old Donaven James Purcell, also of Morganton.
The identity of the victim has not been released, pending notification of next of kin.
Macjarrett and Purcell were taken into custody without incident and have each been charged with one count of Second Degree Murder. They are being held in the Burke County Detention Center without bond. Both are scheduled to make their first court appearance today, Monday August 25th.
No further information regarding the incident has been made available at this time, and the investigation is ongoing.
