Caldwell County Sheriff Kevin Bean announces that further investigation into a series of break ins in the Gamewell community, which previously led to the arrest of Charles Aaron Carr, has now resulted in two additional arrests.
On August 28th, 2025 Caldwell County Sheriff’s investigators executed a search warrant at the home of Franklin Dale Dunn Jr., age 49 and Heather Nicole Smith, age 34, both of 5136 Taylor Farm Rd. Lenoir (Kings Creek)
During the search, deputies recovered numerous items of property believed to have been stolen from the Gamewell Community, as well as firearms, and approximately 17 grams of methamphetamine.
Dunn and Smith were both charged with:
3 counts of Possessing Stolen Property
2 counts of Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Methamphetamine
Maintaining a Vehicle or Dwelling for Controlled Substance
1 count of Possessing a Weapon of Mass Destruction
Bond was set at $125,000 secured for both. The investigation remains active and additional charges are possible.
