On Friday the Hickory Police Department announced the arrest of 53 year old Jonathan David Reep of Hickory.
The arrest comes after Hickory Police Department received an Internet Crimes Against Children cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children back in April that concerned child sexual abuse material. During the initial investigation, it was discovered that the account associated with this cyber tip belonged to Reep.
During a search of the location linked to the IP address from the cyber tip, electronic devices were seized. Digital forensic analysis of these devices and other online communications were also completed.
On Tuesday the (September) 2nd a Catawba County Grand Jury issued an indictment for Reep who has been charged with one count of Second Degree Sexual Exploitation Of Minor and nine counts of Third Degree Sexual Exploitation Of Minor.
After his arrest on Friday the 5th, Reep was taken to the Catawba County Detention Facility, then released under a $260,000 secured bond.
