Wilson Ridge Trailhead and Wilson Creek day use area closure extended

The USDA Forest Service has extended the closure of the Wilson Ridge Trailhead and Wilson Creek Day Use Area along Brown Mountain Beach Road until March 31, 2026, or until the order is rescinded.
According to the US Forest Service order, the day use area and trailhead are closed to “entering and/or being upon or present.” The closure is “intended to mitigate risks to public health and safety and to provide for disaster and safety operations, and to protect the resources while responding to storm debris removal and road reconstruction.”
Violations of this order are punishable by a fine of not more than $5,000 for an individual and $10,000 for an organization or imprisonment for not more than six months or both.
This order only applies to the National Forest System lands.
