A Hickory man was arrested on Friday in Alexander County in connections with a series of break-ins across multiple jurisdictions in all four Unifour counties.
21 year old Kayne Lavance Alford-Bruce is facing charges that include:
17 counts of Breaking and Entering to a Motor Vehicle
3 counts of Attempted Breaking and Entering to a Motor Vehicle
3 counts of Larceny of a Firearm
7 counts of Larceny’s
1 count of Larceny of a Motor Vehicle
In the early morning hours of Friday September 12, a concerned citizen reported a suspicious individual on their property looking into vehicles on Bowmans Court in Bethlehem. Deputies responded promptly and located Alford-Bruce in the Wittenburg Springs Development, where he was taken into custody.
The Alexander County Sheriff’s Office has been actively investigating a group of individuals believed to be responsible for numerous vehicle break-ins in the Bethlehem area since May 2025. Authorities also believe this group is connected to vehicle break-ins across multiple jurisdictions, including: Caldwell County, Burke County, Catawba County, City of Hickory, Town of Longview.
Alford-Bruce is currently being held under $350,000.00 dollar secured bond in the Alexander County Detention Center. His first court appearance is scheduled for September 15, 2025, in Alexander County District Court.
The investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges are expected.
