Tri-County Speedway hosts zMAX CARS Tour featuring Dale Earnhardt Jr.

Tri-County Speedway hosts the zMAX CARS Tour this Saturday night, and will feature NASCAR Hall of Fame driver Dale Earnhardt Jr.

Dale Jr. is not only a driver in the series, but also one of the series principal owners along with former NASCAR Cup Series drivers Jeff Burton, Kevin Harvick and Justin Marks. The ownership group acquired the southeast’s premier late model stock car touring series in 2023.

Saturday nights Soundgear 225 will feature a field of 29 entries in the CARS Late Model Stock Car 125 lap event, and 19 entries in the CARS Pro Late Model 100 lap event. The PLM kicks off the evening’s festivities at 7 p.m. ET, with the LMSC race immediately following.

About Tri County Speedway

Tri County Speedway started life in the Baton community of Caldwell County as a dirt track back in the mid 80’s. It changed hands in 2019 and is now owned and operated by Shad and Shane Higgins, who along with their father and co-owner Buddy Higgins have transformed the paved .400 mile track into a regional fan favorite. 

Tri-County hosts a 23 event schedule for 2025, showcasing multiple racing divisions, and drawing participants from all over the southeast.

Tri-County continues to expand and improve their already impressive facility ,and is recognized as playing an important part in the resurgence of grassroots racing.
