Arrest made in Friday might Hickory shooting

Hickory Police are investigating a homicide that occurred at 1129 2nd St NE.

At approximately 11:13 p.m. on October 3, 2025, Hickory Police Officers responded to a shooting in the back parking lot of Windy City Sundries. When officers arrived, they located two subjects who had sustained gunshot wounds. One victim, Corbin Noah Davis, 24, of Hickory, was pronounced deceased at the scene. A second victim, Tanner Allen Hutchinson, 23, of Hickory, was transported to a local hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators identified Lamonte Keshawn Ramseur, 23, of Newton, as the suspect involved in the homicide. It was discovered that Ramseur, Davis, and Hutchinson were known to each other. Investigators obtained a murder warrant for Ramseur and he was later located and arrested with the assistance of the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office and the Newton Police Department.

Ramseur has been charged with First Degree Murder and is currently being held at the Catawba County Detention Facility under no bond.
