The City of Lenoir’s annual curbside leaf collection will start in November and run through January. This service is provided at no additional cost to residents.
Residents should rake leaves into piles behind the curb or ditch line, and remove all bricks, rocks, sticks, or glass. Such items may cause personal injury to employees and damage equipment.
Residents should get at least three leaf pickups, one in November, one in December, and one pickup in January. For a map to see your route and the estimated time of your leaf pickup each month visit the City of Lenoir’s website here.
The dates are estimates and not guarantees. Weather and other circumstances can affect the leaf pickup schedule. Some leaves start falling earlier in the season. Large piles already placed for pickup will be collected City-wide as-needed from mid-October to early November.
City workers dump the collected leaves at the city mulch site. The leaves compost for a year, and the City sells the compost during the annual leaf compost event in the spring.
