Investigation nets two trafficking arrest in Caldwell County

On October 29, 2025, a month-long investigation into Methamphetamine Trafficking in Caldwell County concluded with the arrest of two suspects by the Caldwell County Sheriff’s ICE Unit. The Lenoir Police Department and the NCSBI also played pivotal roles in the investigation. The suspects, Robert Hubert Long, age 36 of Catawba County, and Danielle Larae Eldreth , age 34 of McDowell County, were taken into custody without incident.
During the investigation, Agents seized approximately 2,600 grams of Methamphetamine, 850 grams of Marijuana, 14 grams of Cocaine and 2 firearms. The narcotics seized have an approximate street value of $414,000.
As a result, Long was charged with two counts of Trafficking Methamphetamine and is incarcerated in the Caldwell County Detention Center under $1,500,000 secured bond. Eldreth was charged with one count of Trafficking Methamphetamine and is incarcerated in the Caldwell County Detention Center under $500,000 secured bond.
