Valdese Police and the NCSBI responded to Praley Street after workers found skeletal remains near a drainage culvert on Wednesday.
Police say a company called Debris Tech found the remains while clearing debris from a culvert along Dye Branch in Valdese. Norfolk Southern Railroad Police are also assisting.
No further information is available at this time.
