The North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to a deadly crash that happened Sunday evening, November 30th, just after 5:30pm.
Troopers say a 2019 Honda Civic heading north on 12th Avenue Drive ran a stop sign, hit a parked car, and then struck a utility pole.
The driver, 68-year-old Enedino Uribe of Conover, died at the scene. Two passengers were rushed to an area hospital in critical condition. 21-year-old Jose Uribe, who was in the front seat, and 28-year-old Rosa Uribe, who was riding in the back and was not wearing a seatbelt.
Investigators believe the driver may have suffered a medical emergency before the crash, causing him to lose control of the vehicle.
