Couple charged with murder also accused of stealing $40k in gold.

WSOC reports that a couple charged with killing a Vietnam veteran is accused of stealing $40,000 worth of gold from his Catawba County home. Cecil Traylor Jr and  Tara Jackson are accused of killing 75 years old David Mize before leading deputies on a multi-county chase in October. A search warrant revealed that Traylor was seen on surveillance video pawning gold items from the vet’s home after the homicide.

 It’s reported that Traylor and Jackson went back to Mize’s home after the murder on several occasions, then moved his body days after the homicide. Mize’s body was later located in the trunk of his vehicle at a Caldwell County wrecker service.
