Trafffic stop results in arrest of drug dealers in Caldwell County

Two individuals were arrested after a routine traffic stop Saturday on Morganton Boulevard led Caldwell County Sheriff’s deputies to the discovery of suspected fentanyl, a loaded firearm, and more than $3,000 in cash.
During the stop, Lenoir Police Department K9 Mia alerted to the presence of narcotics. A subsequent search of the vehicle and the individuals resulted in the discovery of approximately 14.6 grams of suspected fentanyl, which was found on the person of Amie Nicole Sanders, age 38, of Lenoir. Deputies also located a loaded Glock handgun and over $3,000 in cash. Xavier Dontay Dula, age 34, of Lenoir, and Amie Nicole Sanders were taken into custody.
Both were charged with Trafficking by Possession and Trafficking by Transportation. Dula was  also charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.
They were placed into the Caldwell County Detention Center. Sanders  under a $250,000 secured bond, and Dula under a $500,000 secured bond.
“Our partnership with the Lenoir Police Department continues to yield results,” said Sheriff Kevin Bean. “Working together allows us to get dangerous drugs off our streets and keep our community safe.”
