How Holiday Garbage Collection Works
Generally speaking, if your garbage pickup day falls on a holiday, your garbage will be collected on Wednesday that week.
For example, if your pickup is on Monday or Tuesday, and either is a holiday, then the City will collect your garbage on Wednesday. If your garbage is picked up on Thursday or Friday, and either of those days is a holiday, then the City will collect your garbage on Wednesday that week. See graphic below. The schedule may vary during holidays with multiple days.
