In November 2025, the Burke County Sheriff’s Office received a report involving a possible sexual assault on a child. At the conclusion of the investigation, warrants were issued on 29 year old Joshua Adam Bullard of Morganton, for two counts of Indecent Liberties with a Child. Bullard was arrested on January 5, 2026, and transported to the Burke County Magistrate’s Office, where he was ordered to be held without bond. On January 7, 2026, investigators with the Burke County Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant at 4658 Huffmans View Trail, Morganton. As a result of the search, investigators seized more than 28 grams of a crystalline substance that field-tested positive for methamphetamine. 44 year old Juanita Hensley of Morganton was arrested and taken before the Burke County Magistrate where she was charged with Trafficking Methamphetamine, Possession with Intent to Manufacture, Sell or Deliver a Schedule II Controlled Substance, Maintaining a Dwelling for Controlled Substances and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. She was denied bond and her first appearance was scheduled for January 8, 2026.
