On Thursday January 15, 2026, at approximately 4:30 p.m., deputies with the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported breaking and entering in progress.
Upon deputies’ arrival, the suspect fled the scene on foot, leading officers on an extensive search of the area. The Alexander County Sheriff’s Office utilized both drone technology and K-9 units during the search.
At approximately 6:53 p.m., the suspect was located and apprehended without further incident. The suspect was identified as 35 year old Bradley Dean Bandy of Claremont.

Bandy is currently being held at the Alexander County Detention Center under a $50,000 secured bond. His first court appearance is scheduled for January 20, 2026.
