Early Saturday morning, 01/18/2026, deputies with the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a suspicious persons call in the Mountain View area. During their response, deputies encountered two suspects who were subsequently taken into custody.
Investigators with the Criminal Investigations Division (CID) responded to assist with the investigation and learned of multiple vehicle and building break-ins that occurred in the surrounding area.
As a result of the investigation, the following individuals have been arrested were 18 year old Brenton Kyle Frasure of Newton and 18 year old Cameron Hoover, also of Newton. Both were charged with:
• Breaking and Entering Motor Vehicle
• Attempt to Break or Enter Motor Vehicle
• Break and/or Entering Building
• Injury to Personal Property
In addition Frasure was charged with Resisting a Public Officer
Both suspects have a District Court appearance scheduled for January 20, 2026.
