Burke County Schools
Due to winter weather in the forecast, Burke County Public Schools will be closed for all students and staff on Monday, Jan. 26 and Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2026. The YMCA program is closed, as well, and all extra-curricular activities are canceled. This weekend’s weather is likely to impact school well into next week, and we will keep you posted as decisions regarding school are made.
Caldwell County Schools
Due to the ongoing winter storm, Caldwell County Schools will be closed for students and staff on Monday, Jan. 26, and Tuesday, Jan. 27. All schools will be closed, and all school-related activities, including extracurriculars, WrapAround, and athletic events, are canceled.
Catawba County Schools

Due to continued icy conditions and inclement weather, Catawba County Schools will be closed for students and staff on Monday, January 26, 2026.

Hickory City Schools
Due to snow and ice accumulations from the recent and continued inclement weather, Hickory City Schools will be closed tomorrow, Monday, January 26. There will be no school for students or staff.
