Caldwell Caldwell Sheriff’s Office Statement: 02/10/2026
Thanks to a call from a concerned citizen, 2 men were arrested with stolen items this morning after they were spotted on Warrior Road in Lenoir placing copper wire in a vehicle.
Jason Leon Tolbert, 46 of Lenoir and Jimmy Allen Nelson age 36 of Hudson were arrested by Caldwell County Sheriff’s deputies near the intersection of Valway Rd/Collettsville Rd. Deputies recovered 30ft of wire and seized over 2 grams of methamphetamine.
Tolbert was charged with Injuring Public Utility Property, and Possession of Stolen Property and was placed into the Caldwell County Detention Center under $100,000 bond. Nelson was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, Injuring Public Utility Property, & Possession of Stolen Property and placed into the Caldwell County Detention Center under a $100,000 bond.
