US Forest Service announces the reopening of Wilson Creek

We are excited to announce the reopening of the Wilson Creek Gorge day use area!
You’ll be able to go fishing and boating in your favorite spots again. However, just a head’s up: Hurricane Helene caused significant changes to the landscape, including the course of the river and fishing areas. This means there may be new hazards present, but that also gives you the opportunity to find a new favorite fishing hole this spring!
Additional recovery work will be ongoing in the area, and while we invite you to enjoy the area and all that it has to offer, we ask that you please recreate responsibly by following these rules while in the day use area:
No alcohol
No open campfires or overnight camping
Pack in, pack out- all garbage and gear
Note that while most areas around Wilson Creek have reopened, some closures remain in place as restoration work continues, including the closure of the Harper Creek Trail.
