Educational state forests transition to summer hours beginning in March

March 1 marked the start of summer hours of operation for North Carolina’s six educational state forests, that includes Tuttle Educational State Forest in  Lenoir. This means there’s even more time for visitors to explore the trails, learn about forest management for multiple uses and find out what makes each of these forests unique. Explore your educational state forest this season with locations in Elizabethtown, Clayton, Chapel Hill, Stanley, Lenoir and Hendersonville. Ranger-led group classes can also be reserved at no cost in advance of your visit to maximize learning about trees, forest management or wildfire control.
