Shots fired during civil dispute leads to arrests in Alexander County

On Monday after multiple calls from the public reporting shots fired,

Taylorsville Police Department responded to 383 Old Wilkesboro Road in what was determined to be a civil dispute. Officers located a shell casing on the roadside and a search warrant was issued and conducted at the residence.  During the search, officers located a firearm and ammunition matching the spent shell casing.

Arrested was 34 year old Trenton Bennett of Taylorsville.  Bennett was charged with possession of a firearm by a felon, discharging a firearm within city limits, and resisting a public officer.  Bennett received a $30,000 secured bond

Also arrested was 57 year old Angela Clanton, and 37 year old Yakima Green also of Taylorsville.  Both were charged with Disorderly Conduct, and resisting a public officer.  Clanton and Green who were both currently out on bond, were placed on a 48 hour hold.
