A settlement in the amount of $80,000 has been reached in connection to a lawsuit filed against Burke County Schools. A mother said her daughter, who was six at the time, and is special needs was strapped to a chair on several occasions when she was a student at North Liberty School in Morganton. With the settlement, there is no admission of guilt on part of the school system.
