The superintendent of schools in Catawba County, Matt Stover, informed parents in a letter that the system blocked websites after 2 students were contacted by strangers on their chromebooks via a chat room. The strangers attempted to solicit inappropriate images and videos. The Catawba County Sheriff’s Office along with the school system is investigating. The schools will be informing parents of new tools being developed to protect students.
