Hickory Public Schools will be adding extra security precautions for high school football games.  Superintendent Bryan Taylor issued a letter indicating fans will go through a screening process with metal detectors and possible wand search.  No student K-8 will be allowed to attend without an 18 year or older guardian.  The reason cited was reports of gun violence at schools in North Carolina, Virginia and Tennessee in recent weeks.  Gates will open at 5pm before games.
