11 pounds of methamphetamine were seized at a motel in Connelly Springs. 32 year old Charles David Gilmore Jr and 37 year old Kingsley Michelle Perkins were both arrested at the Motel 6 and face multiple drug charges including trafficking meth. Narcotics officers had been conducting surveillance of the motel in reference to drug activity. In addition to the drugs, firearms and US currency was also seized. Both were taken into custody in Burke County with court dates set for June 2nd.
Felony assault charges were filed against a Hickory man. 37 year old Samuel Wade Lawrence was arrested by Hickory Police. He also faces assault on a female and communicating threats charges. Lawrence was placed in the Catawba County Detention Facility under a $25,000 bond. A court date was set for June 16th.
