College and university leaders from across the region gathered Friday morning at Appalachian State’s new Hickory campus for a higher education summit. App State Chancellor Dr. Sheri Everts welcomed participants, which included officials from Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute, Catawba Valley Community College, Lenoir-Rhyne and Western Piedmont Community College.
Topics of discussion included: workforce and industry collaboration, student wellbeing, transfer pathways and faculty recruitment, retention and support. The goal of the event was to foster collaboration and innovation in the region.
