Catawba Valley Community College has appointed Clyde Deal as the new Chief of Security and Law Enforcement Education. Deal has more than 35 years in law enforcement, working for CVCC, the Hickory Police Department and the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office, where he continues to serve as part-time deputy. In his new role, Deal will continue to oversee the safety and security of campus, will serve as the Basic Law Enforcement School Director, and lead the Public Safety Administration Law Enforcement Education program of study.
