BURKE COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE / CRIMINAL INVESTIGATIONS / NARCOTICS DIVISION
PRESS RELEASE:
On August 1, 2024, the Valdese Police Department (VPD), together with the Burke County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO), received information regarding multiple persons squatting/trespassing/dwelling on or about the premises of 1403 Carolina Street, just outside of Valdese city limits without authorization from the owner.
In addition to trespassing, there were multiple reports and complaints about suspicious activities from the residence, including but not limited to drug use, overdoses, and the larceny of property in the surrounding area of Carolina Street.

Several people were removed from the premises including Fabian Luran Winters. Winters was arrested for an outstanding warrant from Ashe County for Misdemeanor Failure to Appear for Damage to Property.
BCSO deputies and VPD officers will periodically check the property, and anyone found on the premises without authorization will be arrested for trespassing and/or breaking and entering.
