Three individuals arrested in September of last year have pled guilty to Felony Concealment of Death and Disturbing Human Remains in Burke County .
59-year-old Robert Ford Dale, Jr., was sentenced to 89-119 months in prison, 35-year-old Rocky Lee Dale was sentenced to 72-99 months in prison, and 51-year-old Lorie Knight Stevens was sentenced to 38-58 months in prison for concealing the body of Mark Dwayne Mitchell who was found by kayakers near the Canoe Access in the area of Corpening Bridge Road.
Following their arrest and a search of their Pax Hill Road residence, Robert Ford Dale Jr and Rocky Lee Dale were also charged with multiple felony drug offenses, as well as multiple felony weapons charges. Those charges were dismissed as part of the plea deal.
The cause of Mark Mitchell’s death has yet to be released.
