Due to damage caused by Tropical Storm Helene and ongoing recovery efforts, the US Forest Service has prohibited swimming in Wilson Creek Gorge Day Use Area and the NC Wildlife Commission has banned swimming in water around the Lutz Tract of the Pisgah Game Lands.
According to the NC Wildlife Commission, the Lutz Tract of Pisgah Game Lands, located between Phillips Branch and Edgemont, is open for hunting, fishing, and the posted use of trails and parking areas; however, all other activities including swimming, camping, target shooting, and campfires are prohibited.
The following US Forest Service recreation sites and trails in the Wilson Creek area remain closed:
